Remember last week when I shared a quote and said that I had a project for that quote? Well...I finally took pictures and can share it with you. Just in case you missed my previous post, you can find it here.
This has got to be one of the easiest craft projects to do. Hardly any skills are required. My kids could do this. Which means if you don't think you are "crafty"...you need to try this! It's crazy-easy to do! I dare you to try it!!
Here's the basic instructions for this polka-dotted frame.
Materials
Wooden Frame ($1 from Michaels)
Spray Paint (2 colors, I used black and platinum silver)
Circle Stickers (I used garage sale stickers)
Instructions
Wipe off frame with cloth. Spray paint base coat. This will be your bottom layer or the color of your polka dots. Allow to dry. Arrange circle stickers over the frame. Press each one down to secure it to the wood. Take second color and spray paint over the frame. Allow to dry. Peel stickers off of frame and enjoy your new crafty creation!
I love it! You could use green and red for a holiday theme, add a bow or leave it as is. I can't wait to give this as a gift this holiday season!

DIY Workout Shirt **SUPER EASY**
Today I'm going to share something I did back when it was warm out. I dream about those days now...I know its just around the corner, but it can't be here soon enough. The painting technique I showed you on my very first blog post , using fabric spray paint. My son did his version and this is mine. I love all things Zebra--and have since college (the Zeta Beta Chi sorority mascot is the Zebra--we are all the same, yet different!), so why not custom make my own hot pink zebra shirt for my workouts?
Here is how I painted my shirt:
First Step:
Make sure your shirt has been washed and dried. Grab a 5 Gallon Bucket and put shirt over top. You can see the collar on top of my bucket. Gather up the shirt, like scrunching it, to give it the different dimensions.
Step 2:
Take your Fabric Spray Paint and spray it generously over the shirt. Let dry as directed on the bottle.
FINAL:
Here is the end result of my painted shirt! I bought an XL shirt because I knew I wanted to make it a loose, fun shirt for my Zumba Classes. However, the XL was too big, so now I only wear it when I exercise at home. I recommend if you are following these steps for the end result workout shirt, just go up one size larger, not two!
Now, you could stop there and be done, but I wanted to make a workout shirt. I pinned this a long time ago and knew I had to make it for my Zumba classes! I followed the directions that Rabbit Food For My Bunny Teeth provided in her blog post. Her step-by-step instructions make it super simple! And here is what my shirt looks like:
(sorry for the weird smile--its hard to take a great picture of yourself, by yourself, in the mirror. Just sayin'.)
Here's the back view:
I love it and Catherine over at Rabbit Food couldn't have made an easier tutorial. (fun blog, too!)
So now I've given you a workout and a workout shirt...there are no excuses! Now, get up and start moving!

Recycled Wine Bottle Craft
I've seen all over Pinterest things that crafters have done with wine bottles. Well, add me to that list. I've seen them cut the wine bottles (not ready for that yet!), ombre wine bottles, modge podge wine bottles, mosaic tiled wine bottles and plenty more. I decided you simply paint mine and add letters to build a word for my fall mantle. It was simple and took only minutes to complete (not counting the drying time of course). So, if you're a wine drinker, this is a simple project for you to complete!
I needed four wine bottles for my word: FALL
Black spray paint
Glitter Chip Board Letters (you could use vinyl, stickers, etc.)
Make sure the bottles are clean. I let them soak in soapy water, scrapped off the labels (they came right off) and then air dry. When I was ready to paint, I wiped them down quickly with some rubbing alcohol and let that dry (it only took a minute).
Spray the bottles with even strokes and let dry.
Apply the chip board letters with craft glue and allow to dry.
Done. Now, they are ready to display. I put mine on my mantel with wheat grass fillers that I picked up last year on clearance at Gordman's. I love the look!
Happy Fall! Stay tuned for my wine cork art piece!

Decisions...and a t-shirt
I've
been at a crossroads lately. I'm stuck. I need to get unstuck--real quick. I have
ideas. Lots of them. I'm just not sure which one (or ones) I should go
with. It's just not me that I'm impacting. I have a family. They have a
stake in whatever I decide to do at this crossroad.
Part
of me thinks I'm just a wimp and I should just tread water and stick
it out, but a piece of me dies everyday I have to continue down this
path.
Where is my Magic 8 ball?Ugh. Enough complaining already. Here it goes. I did a craft with my son the day before school started. We had fun--and the results were fantastic. And, its cheap too! Here's what you need:
- t-shirt
- spray fabric paint (got mine on clearance at Wal-Mart--they were fluorescent pink, green, yellow and orange )
- imagination
- cardboard or something to put under the shirt
Start by putting something in between your shirt so the paint doesn't soak through to the other side (we used an old plastic place mat we had lying around).
Next--decide what design or pattern you want. Carson wanted all four colors everywhere--no rhyme or reason.
Begin your design. Have fun and don't tip the bottle because they it doesn't spray, it dribbles.
Finally--show off your Kool-Aid mustache smile and cool new t-shirt!
I did a different technique on my shirt--and I love it! I will share it soon, just need to make a few "alterations"! And, if Hailey ever decides to hang around long enough to do her t-shirt, I will share it too!
Thanks for stopping by!
